What drew you to Avendus?

I joined the Avendus Investment Banking vertical in November 2015. I was working at another Investment Banking firm when the opportunity came up. Being an economics post-graduate, I always aspired to be a sought-after advisor under the guidance of seasoned bankers. Avendus offered me an opportunity to be a part of a firm that has strong brand in the market and one that believes in younger talent – this motivated me to join the firm.

What has your journey in Avendus been like? How would you describe your role at the firm?

My role is to create value for the clients I serve, by way of deal-making. In many cases, the same boils down to providing financial advice to my clientele on merger & acquisition or private equity syndication deals in the Enterprise Technology & Services space.

How has Avendus empowered you to succeed?

The Senior Leadership is very encouraging and empowers you to make a difference. Ownership is of utmost importance; you are given the liberty to run your own show and as a result you must demonstrate self-motivation and self-drive. There is nothing like the feeling of closing a deal. Happy clients make us proud of what we do and is a testament of the  talent pool at the firm.

How would you describe the firm’s culture?

The firm offers you an environment that is vibrant and fast—paced. You must never be complacent but are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them in your growth journey. Ownership and accountability are two traits that are must have to succeed at Avendus. Conflicting views are always welcome and the non-hierarchical structure allows individuals from across levels to contribute and make a difference.

What is your advice to people seeking opportunities at Avendus?

Be prepared to board an interesting, challenging yet rewarding journey at Avendus. Hard-work, self- drive and passion to become a leader will help you succeed at Avendus.

What do you like doing when you are not at work?

I have a big family, most time outside work means family time. Recently, that mostly means quality time with my daughter.
